The last line comes from the great Harlan Ellison…
I have no mouth and I must scream…
One of the darkest, and most brilliant short stories
I have ever read…
There is a free pdf if you google it…enjoy the poem:)
——————–
Sewn shut against fear…
Stitched tight against
any words that may
hurt…
or damage…
Yes, just quietly standing…
Mind racing, but my mouth…
my poor mouth…
devoid as a phone booth…
with no receivers…
As a river,
with no flow…
As a brain…
with no thoughts at all…
I have a mouth…
And yet I have no mouth…
Yes, I have no mouth…
And I must scream…

Cool photo you chose to share. Very interesting poem. I could picture it in my mind, like a scene from a horror movie with the person standing there with stitched mouth, and all the horrors locked inside……. fits my mood today ~ me
I understand…Sometimes fate seems to just thwart us at every turn,,,,
Or something within……………….
Our own personal roadblocks..The worst of all,….
My poem last night; yesterday’s post is that….. has mouth and brain in it ….same wavelength again….
I shall go check it out!!

You are welcome! lol
I just published
Brilliant! Thoughts from my head… If I scream will anyone hear? Will it make a difference? Does it matter?
Yes…Will you be heard? Will anyone even care?
Wonderful short story, and a great concept for a photo shoot!
Phone booths without phones say a lot….Thank you so much!
a very touching theme..and the story was really very dark indeed..
Thank you Padmini…Combined a few ideas here.
Your poetry, David, me me think how much we attach technology and how much we depend on it!
When it stops working, we lack so much again! remain powerless!
Have a great day, David! Warm wishes! Stefania fondly!
Yes. It is scary how dependent we have become. Have such a wonderful day, Stefania !!!
