Stormy nights
and ravenous days
sink their sharpened teeth into
the flesh of any unaware passers-by…
But, nothing last forever….
For, no amount of tears are never-ending
and no mountain is uncarvable
by water or time…
So erecting useless blockades,
and paper-thin excuses…
just get in the way
of reaching out…
and living the happy lives…
That each of us…
so richly..
deserves…

the first four lines were dark, but the poem turned around.. I got it that neither happiness lasts for ever nor does sadness..
Yes…and more importantly, not to stop yourself or be your own enemy. So many people stop themselves from trying before the even start…
This one is so good, you are a good poet, keep carving brilliance, David!
And Happy New Year to you, many blessings and much love to you.
