Impermanent as We Are

I wrote this a few weeks ago and it was posted with a photo at the site Jennuinenature….You can see her link on my home page, and I believe it’s March 25 and called wandering and poetry.  Very lovely photos all…Anyway, here is the poem again, slightly modified to fit my different photo!

———

The breeze of morning blows with delight…
As the sun dives beneath smokey clouds….
Wood chips kicks invitingly under the soles of dusky feet…
sun rises and sets upon lifetimes….
trail…dust…grass…mud…
endlessly cycling…endlessly dying….
rebirth upon rebirth…
secrets found are never lost…
or never found at all…
trails wind through ages of pain and despair…
till the end….as the metronome clicks its last…
to just rest…upon the grass…upon the ground…

  1. Wow David… this is fantastic. Love how you have captured the rhythms of the life–cycle in your observations of natures wonders. Also love the image…makes me wonder where this is…. Are there nature trails in Florida? 🙂 Great post!

    • :))))). Florida is extremely wild. Most of it is forest and swamp. There are hundreds of freshwater springs and beautiful flat land scenery. This was at alderman ford nature preserve 🙂
