On the Precipice…

On the Edge...

——

Tilted up from down….

insanity crashing aquatically below…

Evilly acquainted slippery granite

tempts my rubbery feet…

—–

I sit down….

water rushes over the edge…

aqua blue and silvery cool…

never stopping and never slowing…

—–

the cliff’s feel  is erotically smooth…

to fly, fall and slide into the churning tempest….

a nightmare for sure but a dream for some…

but rejection is my surly answer…

—-

Peacefully I fall back,

as the water drains the other way….

away from certain danger,

and into the golden pool beyond…

  1. Your poem matches so well to the picture. As I looked at the picture before reading your words. I thought od siting with my legs danggaling over. But thought it might be slippery, I even thought of laying back so I could hear the rushing water and see the sky inbetween the trees. 🙂

    • And, I’m sooo scared of heights…I had to reach the camera out for this one…It was about 60 feet down…This is from the raven Cliffs wilderness near Helen GA

  2. Very nice.I’m glad you had a safe ending. I was holding my breath wondering what your decison would be. I am still thinking about the ending. Want to know if the water really switched directions. Really enjoyed the poem and photo.

  3. Very nice! I enjoyed the visual feel of this — especially these words.
