Snatched Away….

———

It really looked to me that it might reach out and grab me…shiver…

——

Transfixed upon the spot…

shivers cold it’s not…

Glancing up I see…

The figure of a tree…

Lurking over there,

and blinding with a stare…

Stabbed within my eyes…

So furious with lies…

With a step I run…

Scared of what I’ve done…

But judgement day is nigh…

Beneath that oak so high…

with a sullen cry…

I pray and wish for sky…

  1. wow! that tree looks like the one in the movie “Poltergeist” that came in the room and grabbed the little boy..

and your poem has a lot of meaning..

  2. really glad I don’t watch horror right now! love the tree image paired with the poem, I always sit here dissecting the ‘meaning’ of the poem, do you intend them deep, or do they just happen that way? I can never tell. they always seem to have such great depth!

    • Well. I think the most important thing is you get your meaning. I’m perfectly fine with whatever you may think:). They can be pretty open ended and there for interpretation:)

      • I agree when I write it’s the same…and sometimes the symbolism just appears so much by accident and sometimes it’s intentional, but always the purpose is achieved if the reader applies their own to the writing. So, well done

  3. Excellent poem. I thought I read this already, so if I’m commenting again…oh well. 🙂
I think I am the only one that likes that tree; It would make for an awesome tree house! Poem was great. Liked the part about the final wish escape into the sky. 🙂 Sam the Pam (as in fake spray on cooking oil)

    • ahhhhh! good old pam. not really needed with ham lol….oh its an awesome tree…just tried to spook it up:) one persons treehouse is another ones goblin lol
