Light so Veined

Though darkness

plows through all our souls…

Twisted heartbeats too…

There is a lace

of light throughout

whether old or new…

The air is charged

with energy

and some no doubt

is black…

Just like this twisted tree

with life it does now lack..

But we’re among the living…

and twins that we are…

despite our inner blackness

light has smiled a scar..

Traced upon our breast

an elegant tattoo

eyes will know it’s me

And I willΒ  now see you..

  1. Amazing. I loved the rhythm and the depth. Love the depth. To take a stunning photo and then create a story so quickly—a marvelous gift. And the message, profoundly wonderful. You keep this up, and I’ll have to think of new adjectives….Twins that we are……my favorite line. Hugs, Sam under a tree.

  2. This is a “show-stopper”! LOVE It. Not sure which I love more the poem (which seems another for the Jungian Poetry Journal that you need to get published in) or the photo which is FANTASTIC! Really … artistic and edgy and perfect for this piece. Thanks David – you never disappoint!

    • Robyn:) I’m so glad that some of these pieces speak to you..I am going tolook for said journal…you really never know:)) And thank you for liking the photo:))

      • I’ve not read the journal myself – but am familiar with Jungian Theory and many of your poems do reflect such. Thus – if there is a Jungian artistic/poetry publication out there…your work may be appropriate for sure. BTW, of all the psychoanalytic theories I studied in grad school – Carl Jung was my hands-down favorite. Not sure if you’ve ever studied his work – but may really appeal to you too!! πŸ™‚ Again this photo is totally awesome. Start getting some frames πŸ™‚ Hoping your day is bright πŸ™‚
