With sweat on my brow
and an aching display
of self-discipline
I pulled back my hand
stilled my feet
quieted my breath
and with eyes and ears trained
from years of looking into streams
waited
for this event
whatever it was
to happen

getting the suspense there… 🙂
yes…you just never know what might happen if you’re really quiet:)
what happened after?are there fishes suddenly jump infront of you?what happened?
I’m not sure…hmmm..still waiting…maybe an alligator…yes..that’s it
you think worst than I!lol hehee 🙂 maybe you could capture it too, will be dying to see that 🙂
We saw no alligators that day…would be nice to have a photo
voyeur~ everywhere^_^
yes..very true:))))
Lovely!!! Keep us guessing, David 🙂
Even I need to guess:)))).
A mystery! Leaving us wondering away hugh David?? 🙂 Nice photo and suspenseful little poem to match!
:))) I’m wondering as well, myself:)))
Still searching to observe more?
always always kim:)))
:))
Precisely!
:)) Thank you, Mari
Enjoyed the mystery and energy behind the discipline. I could learn from this poem. 🙂
Well, that was the key…ignoring my need to push forward, and just relaxing and relaizing i will probably see more…
Relaxing??????Oh, please teach me what that feels like. 😉 Hugs, Sam the Pineapple 🙂
You can learn that on the beach at maui. Be safe!
Love the suspense!!
Made me smile as it brought back a memory of going for a family walk – sitting and enjoying the lake. The next minute an angry fisherman was venting, apparently, my 6yr old son had sneaked up behind him and thrown a big stone into the water, frightening all the fish away ))cringes((
Oh my gosh. Every fisherman’s nightmare. Someone disturbing the fish hehe. And anything disturbs the fish lol
love it.. and you never know what you will see.
Very true. You know as well as anyone. You see more wildlife if you are quiet and patient:)
Je suis un espion. Spy on! ~Regards, Dan
Will do my friend:)
I like this. To me it speaks of quieting, listening, and being ready for whatever happens in life… ~ Lily
Yes. And its always a daily challenge for me to remember this. Thank you Lily:)
Well! What happened?! It was a suspenseful ending…hm. Lovely as always.
hehe…Well I guess that’s up to you…In real life I took the shot, and noticed nothing else…But who really knows what could have happened…..
ah..I thought there may have been more from the writer not the reader for this one…
It’s more a reminder to myself (or my kids) to be patient…you never know what you might see…it’s about no event in particular
