Twilight Twist

——-

As the sun sinks in the sky

The walk begins…

Just like every evening

of every night

since the birth of time..

Each footprint leaves a glittering trail of

 twilight sparkles…

One step after another

rains droplets

of rubies and sapphires

glittering like snowflakes

on a blank canvas…

Each twist

tendons its way forward

like a heart beating

a marching rhythm…

Till the end is reached…

The jaunt is over..

And sweet sleep will come

under the ancient stars of yesterday…

Tomorrow will arrive soon enough

But not until rest..

no..

not until rest..

    Loved ^^^^ that part.

One of my favorite photos. The whole thing is inviting and beautiful — much a shared journey of many souls. “not until rest….” Well done. 🙂 Sam

  2. i could imagine myself walking through that path…very serene and tranquil…image was silent which contradicted by the screaming thought of the poem: under the ancient stars of yesterday, beautiful… well done David 🙂
