Rest a Bit

Usually even the twistiest trail…

one lined with brambles to scratch you

and muck

to suck off your shoes..

and all types of’

biting and stinging things…

has its own

pot of gold…

waiting at the end..

But to reach it..

you just

have to

  1. It is true…Skookumchuck Narrows hike with four kids, one in a sling on me, and a very real possibility of bears…long, grooling, the sight at the end…worth it. Have a great day!

  2. The area looks like a nice place for a picnic and worth the work of walking through muck and getting scratched by the brambles. I’m out of breath from that walk. Whew!! Written so well I was there. 🙂

  3. Yes – small victories… should be baby pots of gold along the way though, as don’t think we ever truly ‘finish’! Food for thought;) Beautiful verse and photo David!

  4. I like the balance in this photo. A stop along the way to regain balance and glance at the possibilities on the neverending path. Knowing there is such a lovely place to rest and reflect. Oh, the muck! How I fight muck like quicksand, when better to just simply step out. Fantastic imagery. Well done. Here’s to many, many pots of gold. 🙂 Sam in search of better water shoes for muck. 🙂
