Drabulous Me…

veins of crimson slowly moving

with glacial ferocity

become snuffed out

by all that’s truly tepid…

and fantastically droll

in this world…

In this life..

and in this moment..

Brightness may arrive tomorrow

or even when the clock

tolls again…

But with delicious immediacy

and a succulent grin

drab is the color

of the hour…

  1. Drab may be the color of the hour, yes…but your photo is magnificent! I’m really getting to enjoy the FL scenery as you progress in your photography! Your poem is terrific as usual David! πŸ™‚

  2. OK, I admit, ‘Drab” is a cool thing when it is in your poem. I love dark, overcast days in nature. Beautiful photo and very descriptive poem- neat poem!

  3. It’s a lovely picture, drab is the new beautiful, don’t you know? And the words, moving and feeling as always. It’s a lovely poem that reflects so much of what we feel at times.

  4. Even when you are feeling drab, you are never every drab—for you will never lack in spirit and brightness. Drab in color, cheerless, perhaps. But never plain drab. You manage to make drab bright in photo and words. Well done. πŸ™‚ Your friend, Sam the green fruit

  5. David, i think your photos and poems are great, but the brown background, for me, doesn’t enhance them. i wonder if a white or pale blue background would be better,
    . Just a thought…

  6. You may be right John…I’m literally just dabbling..one toe in the water with the photos…I guess I’m just seeing what works and what doesn’t….Hopefully i’ll start producing more hits than misses:) thank you for the ideas:)
