Living in the Shadows

Shadow David

——

though smiles

and pleasant words might say

otherwise..

Despite the brightness of

our everyday pathways

there is a shadow inside all of us…

intertwined and leaking smoky tendrils

that wrap loosely around the light..

The dark and the bright mix and smile

together exchanging familiar knowing glances

revealing a kinship from ages past

till not even the wisest

of eyes could tell

which one was which

or either

apart.

  3. What a wonderful mix of light and dark and playful perspicacity. I felt a tug this way and that way, while being alarmed and calm at the same time. Superbious!
