Silver spoons are not involved
in my family of brass…
Despite our humble offerings
We have learned that mountains must be scaled…
ropes will be climbed…
and oceans can be crossed…
And although each challenge
may seem daunting
and even impossible…
Experience and all its wisdom
has been considerate
with its pearls…
And with each pearl
The true gift does appear…
a glimmering star that
shines a light just clear enough
to make a path
through the heartache
and sadness
too often present
in this
world.

David L. Whitman 05/20/2012 from under a sky so blue….

And those are certainly words enough:). Thank you

Fantastic David you did an excellent job of show it takes hard work to achieve success.
Thank you so much kim…I’m definitely sure it takes tonsss of hard work!
This piece is very inspirational. I like the imagery you have used to symbolise the effort required!
Thank you so much:) I’m glad you enjoyed:))
Many of your poems I can relate to. This one reminds me of how my ancestors came to USA about 100 years ago away from communism and made their way and their descendants are still striving to achieve the all American dream. But what is funny they achieved it and we are just enriching it. Thanks again David you do just a wonderful job connecting your pictures and poems with people.
I know sometimes things don’t work out the right way….But one thing that I am sure of is that we must put out effort and work hard….thank you for what you shared Beatrix
Very inspiring..Thanks for sharing this poem.
Thank you for reading:)
Excellent way to match photo to words. Climbing the ropes….. True character and strength comes from those that climb. 🙂 Loved your art, as usual. Very relatable. Sam
