Breaking Free

—–

Trapped within the spiky grasp

of a friend who was not a friend at all…

The sun began a desperate plot,

using all its solar guile

to break free ofΒ  these

self-imposed bonds….

Rising strong

like a celestial deity

in the heavens,

and lemoning true compassion..

the sun made a promise

within its fiery depth…

and never allowedΒ  itself

to be repressed

again….

  1. This is gorgeous work David. You are gifted…truly gifted. I see a book in your future for sure, don’t even for one second think these are not good, they’re all brilliant. Hope you have a great day πŸ™‚

  2. solar guile, celestiall deity, lemoning true compassion, never allowed itself to be repressed again…no more downplaying Anything you do…time to uplay a bit. Excellent. And the tiny sun again, trapped and rising….out shines even you, almost. πŸ˜‰ Sam

  3. This poem – just resonates all the way through. Has true momentum and give the reader a sense of overcoming something big! The sun can do that sometimes! Wonderful work David — you should know by now, you do have a special gift! ~RL

  4. The sun stands alone and rises everyday teaching us that it’s possible to rise against repression… Really engaging poem… πŸ™‚
