State of Dreams

——–

Standing…

Archaicly lonely…

like a gentle dream,

bubble clear

and scream free…

the tranquility zone

flies above your head…

Foggily lifting you

into dreamy heights…

to your one past life…

the one where your smile

came more often…

and the sadness

had not yet

reared

its ugly head…

Not nostalgically forever…

But good enough

to get you through..

Certainly at least..

one more

day…

  1. Even as children we are drawn to reach for the stars and love trees. Why do we forget these friends of summers gone by? I say climb a tree and touch the past. The stars will meet you there with dreams and hopes to spare! ~D

  2. “to your one past life…

    the one where your smile

    came more often…

    and the sadness

    had not yet

    reared

    its ugly head…”

This part made me smile the most. Your dream like photo paired with these words has elevated my morning, thank you.

  3. These words so wonderful David:

    “like a gentle dream,
    bubble clear
    and scream free…
    the tranquility zone
    flies above your head…
    Foggily lifting you
    into dreamy heights…”

And yes — can take you back to the past life we yearn for and can get us us through — just adored this poem~~ Love and Thanks… RL

  4. I love how the light sweeps through this photo, like angels. And this sweeping magnifies the lingering moss and broken limb. What a lovely, lovely tree that beckons to be hugged! Sweet poem. He does appear “Archaicly lonely…like a gentle dream.” I shall take him home with me and have a tea party. He would like that, much. he he ~ Sam 😉

  5. swooning that photo, it is so ethereal…sorry can’t comprehend the piece, there’s a blockage in my cerebral vessels right now (reading again…). ok, that piece is soo for me. The tranquility it brings gave somehow a lift in my soul. Thank you David 🙂
