And Then They Came

And after crying out for water for

so long,

His mouth was torn open and

the deluge poured

down his throat…

Filling all the chambers and tunnels,

and swelling him as a balloon

until it spewed up like a geyser

covering  every inch of land within one mile…

And here,

in a place once parched…

The frogs and fish splashed

with delight

at the impromptu

gift that some kind soul

had delivered…

unto them
