The Lonely Beacon

————–

Deep in the forest…

Beyond the cedars and elms…

Encircled in a small ringlet

of cypress growing since the

eon’s dawn…

Lies a small individual oak,

glowing with a narrow stream of light

so vivid,

that it casts up a signal….

Letting the whole universe know…

That this!

was a place

inhabited by love…

and life…

and hate..

and sadness…

and jealousy…

and desire…

to the point where

future generations…

in other places…

never doubted the humanity

on this small planet…

drifting near a little star…

in a far off corner…

of a tiny galaxy…

hidden away…

in a place…

few..

would ever see…
