—————
Encircled in bands
of sharpened steel….
Disguised in the form
of warped wood…
every day travelers
walked past the
shape of two innocent posts,
never realizing
the spiralling energy contained
within…
Taking photos…
Posing…
Always one step
from the abyss
that grinned deep inside…
Looser the bands have
grown over the years…
and still the sheep have
come…
Touching…
Caressing…
and gaining comfort…
But,
this lesson of taking
may have a bitter end,
for all those who didn’t
realize…
that occasionally…
something must be given
back…
as well…

I like. Your poem endings always strikes so deep like this one today.
Thank you! How did it strike you?
Give and take thing striked me, cause we always take and take annnnnd take, but so often forget that we have to give back to nature too. Today is world car-free day and I am trying to be green as much as I can especially today. Your poem touched me really.
I agree. So many don’t think of giving back….its I’m in it for me….green is good!
I sooo agree green is good. Looooove green 😉
Go green go!!!!
:)))))))))
This seems to have a deep meaning..really like the lesson at the end.. enforcing the ‘give and take’ policy..
As I wrote it….yes. The meaning changed as I went…and well…some people can be selfish
well..yes, that’s probably true..
Sadly very true
Nice work. :)))
Thank you kim! Hope all Is well!
