Solar Visit

—————

Hurtling into the maw of the sun…

Not immediately…

or suddenly…

For the sun is normally

far away…

But sometimes…

When the timing is

just right…

The golden orb pays a jaunty

little visit…

down to earth…

for a tiny snack…

So, what does this solar friend eat?

Darkness…

and sadness…

despair…

and cruelty…

and all the horrors

hiding in the night…

And when she is sated…

When her fires are stoked…

Up to the clouds,

she disappears…

until her hunger…

and the Needs of our children…

call out…

Β and burn bright..

again…

  1. Powerful poem….I love your photo.

Say, I hope this isn’t too much of an inconvenience, but I would like to invite you to come and check out my new poetic post. I hope you’ll like what I bring to this planet of yours.

  2. Looked like a scene right out of Back To The Future Part 3 when Marty and Doc were traveling back to 1985 on the steam train. Ok time to don our cheesy 80s clothes again.

  3. Solar friend plays pivotal role in our lives and brings in a bright new gift -i.e., a new day. You have beautifully re-introduced this friends through your poetry and this brilliant photograph. Thanks for sharing!
