Bluebottle Heaven

————-

With everything moving

too fast in the world…

People rushing…

children hurrying….

And, time itself

spinning out of control, and

sending the very atoms of existence

whirling by at a

breakneck pace…

The thought of a tiny fly….

just hovering in place…

neither going forward…

or backwards…

but seeing all….

and sensing everything around…

Is enough to make

even the most jaded

passerby…

stop for a second…

draw in a slow

deep breath…

open up new

eyes…

and just…

take…

a look…

  1. I adore this piece…so true. Mind you, I try to not think what they’ve been hatched on. A fantastic shot…lovely David. Thank you for sharing.

      • Amazing eh?I can’t believe you caught it. How many times…you just miss a fantastic shot, it follows you, for weeks, or years, the shot you see in your head, that you didn’t catch…glad the fly co-operated and hovered long enough. Hope it didn’t poop on you, you were obviously right under it. lol

  2. Funny you should write this poem. Yesterday I was out while the kids were going to school. I took the bus and it’s been a long time since I was out at that time. I noticed everyone was racing around. Running across the street pushing on the bus. I stopped in Dunkin Donuts and they were running around trying to get the customers out quickly. I couldn’t imagine that only 4 years ago I was one of these people. I like my slower pace. Thanks for writing it for me. πŸ™‚
