Silently Screaming

The last line comes from the great Harlan Ellison…

I have no mouth and I must scream…

One of the darkest, and most brilliant short stories

I have ever read…

There is a free pdf if you google it…enjoy the poem:)

——————–

Sewn shut against fear…

Stitched tight against

any words that may

hurt…

or damage…

Yes, just quietly standing…

Mind racing, but my mouth…

my poor mouth…

devoid as a phone booth…

with no receivers…

As a river,

with no flow…

As a brain…

with no thoughts at all…

I have a mouth…

And yet I have no mouth…

Yes, I have no mouth…

And I must scream…

  1. Cool photo you chose to share. Very interesting poem. I could picture it in my mind, like a scene from a horror movie with the person standing there with stitched mouth, and all the horrors locked inside……. fits my mood today ~ me

  2. Your poetry, David, me me think how much we attach technology and how much we depend on it!
When it stops working, we lack so much again! remain powerless!
Have a great day, David! Warm wishes! Stefania fondly! 🙂 🙂
