Beneath They Are

beneath

Centered starlight shines upon its

friends…

Gently dancing with the breeze,

while

Bathing them in a cooling glow…

But…

A glow not for everyone…

Indeed, not for those

trampled underfoot…

and swallowed up by darkness…

For them a different light

awaits…

A swirling blackness

hidden in the depths…

Just lurking beneath…

chuckling behind the indigo shades…

Making circles on the surface

as an invitation…

or….

a command…

To come…

and rest…

and play…

and live…

awhile….

or forever….

If you like…

  1. I like it very much it starts so light and then it is like a warning in the middle and it ends as invitation to breathe your life with full lungs. Your poem fits just right in my rainy cold day its refreshing. Did I mention that I really like this poem? πŸ™‚
