Delicious Greed

straight and narrow

——————

closing in from all sides….

And beset by the most

surreptitious kind of dangers…

from thorns that tear…

to barbs that twist and rip…

All to protect the juiciest of berries…

from the greedy mouths

that would eat

their chin dripping goodness…

Until the spines had

nothing more to protect…

And their lives…

such that they were…

Ceased to exist…

in a world

that dined on greed…

And drank the juices

of simple berries…

Just growing

on the edge…

of a lonely trail…

  1. Some roads that lead to loneliness have need for friends and creativity.
