Desolation

desolation

———————

Desperate and alone in the tall grass…

Miles away but inside me…

The voices scream within my head

only to whisper across the waving stalks…

Trembling with dissonance and biting down hard…

My teeth chatter in the darkening breeze…

Lost so close to a home

filled with light and warmth…

But caught beyond a door…

closed forever on the other side of nowhere…

Wishing silently in the dark…

With my only friend Glowing brightly…

just inside the swirling lines of my palms…

deep within the circles…

of my hands…

  1. Beautiful written, so soft.
Lost so close to a home
    filled with light and warmth…
    But caught beyond a door…
closed forever on the other side of nowhere…
    Wishing silently in the dark…

    I love this part.

  2. You write so good… Sometimes spooky that I shiver to the bones, sometimes so smooth that I fly from one word to another like a butterfly and always want more of your poems
