The Fragrance of Desire

Dripping with green

and smelling of purple,

the berries were tempting…

Yes oh so tempting..

But it was hard to ignore

the bodies…

littering the ground

in a ragged circle…

just steps..

from their delightful

aroma…

But still….

To just take a bite…

Even just one bite…

was an urgent need.

A desire floating

on the very fragrance

That delighted death…

and all his friends

To just step back and watch…

And wait…

To patiently wait…

For the next suitor…

to stretch out his hand…

open his mouth…

and join the others…

In the dying, brown grass…
