———–
At a time when the coolness
of water becomes a bit too much…
When your body shivers
with hypothermic
deliciousness…
Let the warm scent of oak
and pine
guide you down a winding trail
through a hardwood forest…
with each twist and turn
designed to fill your senses
and consume your pain..
till the end…
Brings you a little
bit closer..
to the you
who used
to be..

hypothermic deliciousness… great combo of words. And a bit closer to the you who used to be…that’s serene. And the trail…to die for….rainy here today, sigh. Thanks for the treat and the beauty. Sam 🙂
And oak and pine…two of my favorites. And cedar and redwood, too. Okay, done. 🙂
and elm and maple and hickory…sigh…and cypress…all so lovely
cypress…I almost wrote back cypress, dogwood, Japanese Maple, crab apple, elm…..but I stopped myself….well sort of…lol
Hahahhahaha. :)))). Good save
You are welcome for the treat…it was definitely a treat for me as well:)))
Great again…and something about your ending really struck a nerve. Guess that is how I feel when I’m walking a nature trail….just a little bit closer to who I ‘really’ am! Thank you for another treasure David — Loved it 🙂
Exactly robyn…People who only know me at work, only know part of me…:))) It’s my pleasure…:))
And those folks, then David, are surely missing out 😉

Ahhhh…who does not desire this treasured path…so lovely. Your words really lead us there, as always. So good to ‘know’ the real you, you’re a treasure too:)
:))) yep..this is me pretty much as it is…And i’m so glad you liked it:))))

Hey David, nice post again!!
I love the scent of pine. We burn oak in the winter to warm our house and believe me there is nothing warmer to warm your bones on a cold winter day then sitting next to a fireplace. Thanks for your post I certaiinly can relate.
We have a fireplace where we burn oak and I love the smell. Thank you Beatrix:)))))

Spectacular, David! Gorgeous imagery… I can almost smell the pine. And your description of swimming in cold water (which I enjoy) is amazing: “hypothermic deliciousness”. I love that! Thank you again, as always. Your posts bring such enjoyment. Cheers, Gina
