Hiding from the throng,
The rock looked back
at certain life choices…
and though he hated to admit it…
things may have been
better down at the quarry
with the sun on
his back
and dreams in
his head…
But, now…
even with the safety
of a secluded elm..
and the coolness
of the dewy grass
peace was truly…
a rare
commodity…

but now it has such nice company 🙂
I would agree:))) the elm and grass are very sweet friends:))
Sounds as if that rock had a hard head. But finally found peace. Excellent metaphors.
hehehe…a hard head:))) thank you Kim:)))
Ah dear rock…we have all been there…you are not alone at all are you. You found friends here you didn’t expect, and each of our hearts is touched by yours.
The rock is glad I’m sure :))))
Just a rock 🙂 like your poem and your vivid photo, great combination like always.
yes…just a rock:)))) thank you Mateja
Since peace is rare, I’m chucking that rock to greener pasture. 🙂 Hey, I’m green. lol Sam, the green fruit. Excellent, as always…perfect combo.

maybe an ancient hope…..
Hehe. Definitely ancient
A+ David!!! Absolutely love this. Make peace with wherever we are…. Great words and image:)
:))) thank you Robyn…That rock was sooo relaxed:)))
He could have been at the quarry and made into tiny little rocks and spread amongst a driveway or such. He looks good in the calm serene setting untouched.
Well, then i’m sure this is a good place then:))
Nice one. The rock has made his choice:)
yes…and i hope a good one:)
It is the perfect choice:)
:)))))
peace is not usually omnipresent when there is silence, for usually its when we are silent that thoughts were freely shouting inside our heads 🙂 morning realizations for breakfast, thank you David 🙂

lol, you’re just sleepy dear David, get your pillows now 🙂
That ‘rock’ looks like a ‘heart’ stone- no wonder it is so sensitive:) Alas for the rock, grass is always greener at the quarry…
A heart stone! Wow. A special rock indeed:)
Dear little rock – you know what they say… a rolling stone and all that!!
Lovely verse David 🙂
Thank you alex:). I really like this one 🙂
Rocks can be so sedimentary. (giggle) What I liked about the rock is his way of pondering, but he happened to miss the lovely view. The roots that hugged him, the leaves that caressed him, and what looks like tiny little flowers that were trying to tell him of the treasures hidden underneath him…if only he would move a tad to the left, or the right either way. Hee hee
Great image! And wonderful pondering words! 🙂
Hehehe. He really does have it rather good. If only he would open his eyes:)))
